The third and final year of the series was an excellent wrap-up, but the strong actors and story lines could have, I believe, continued the series for another two or so years at least.
The vocabulary is really amazing in that we think people spoke like we do now but they couln't be farhter from the truth. I have all three seasons and enjoy the complete realistic feel of the whole series. I really enjoyed this series. Most of our present vocabulary came about over the past century. It shows how hard it was in the mining towns of the day. The absent of the law and how people took care of things themselves. It is a very adult series so it is only for adults. Lots of violence and steamy language.
I love the Deadwood series. It is too bad that the series did not continue for more seasons. Mr. Wu's communication with "Swingen" was great dialogue.
The only down-side to Deadwood is that there was not a season 4. If the Old west is your passion you need to own all three seasons.
Westerns of the past few years have made great efforts at becoming more historically accurate. This is especially important to those of us who are CAS or SASS fans.
If you love Westerns this is a must-have for your movie collection. It is a cowboy re-enactors dream come true.
We want movies to not only have historic characters and settings, but authentic firearms, dress, and language. Deadwood delivers.
You can watch them over and over again and get more out of them each time you watch. The story leaves you hanging at the end and wanting more.
very disappointing, vulgar and swearing. I watched about 15 mins. and couldn't bear it. Not for me.
